Something tells me you've been abducted by aliens once. Do you live in Groningen? Today on the radio I heard that a lot of UFO sightings occured there.

Does someone know how to improve this? I really want to win a competition with this one :)
sweet_insanity (Jul 11, 2007)
improve? that depends, what do you think is wrong with it.
i think it's beautifull, then again i love all your stuff practicly,
Roytje (Jul 11, 2007)
I want to know what's wrong with it. Maybe a bad compesition? To much light? Not enough butterflies, etc. :)
Dr.Moony (edited Jul 11, 2007)
What for a competition?

I like it. - But I guess it needs more depth and you should emphasize the butterflies more.
Look a bit at the thumb, that should make it easier for you to find what can be improved.
Sweetcell (Jul 11, 2007)
The fishy disapeered. I agree more depth is needed. Maybe since it's a strong light source the edge of the leaves and trunk and darker flutterbyes should have some highlight (subtle) and just some slightly darker shapes in the bg to make the tree and light come more forward. And just a subtle outline of the flutterbyes so they stand out in the stream of light as well. The rest is awesome as always.

I think that this is really beautiful, and that the (more or less) monochromatic color scheme is very pleasing. Great job. :D
sweet_insanity (Jul 12, 2007)
i like how you added the light's reflecting off the objects closer too it, it was a grand inprovement and makes it feel more whimsical image then fantasy illustration.
i likes it alot <3

Thanks! :)

been there, done that. scary for me, but the pic is great. :}
Morggey (Jul 13, 2007)
Very pleasing art to look at. I'd put this on my wall! I love the contrast of the smudgy background with the well-defined forms in the foreground... The mountains at the bottom remind me of an ancient Chinese illustration. =)
Sweetcell (Jul 13, 2007)
That made quite a difference, the tree stands out more, so do the flutterbyes.
Did you win or is the contest still going?
Artiste (Jul 13, 2007)
