I like your style, but you do know you can use layers, right? And because you use soft colors, it might be an idea to either put a solid white or cream underneath your creatures or make it solid soft color instead of translucent colors. That way the background won't show through and making the character look transparent and faded.
It's certainly easier to see now. Soft colors are nice to work on, but without contrst they get lost. But as you go you learn. I wonder if your using layers, I'm noticing your colors are bleeding into each other, layers are an artists best friend. As for lining, the airbrush at med/high opacity put on thick then shaving the lines away with the soft erasure makes clean, smooth lines. You might want to try it.
