I don't know.. I just let my mind go wild on this one. At first I was trying to draw a funny Mushroom Character, but that was not working out, so I just started doodling this instead.

I think its effective! light and dark is a hard contrast to do, since it is so opposite. although your really made it out greatly. I also think the fact you added little touch of white in the bottom of this work gives it a more balanced look, very nice to the eye.
