Yes, that's ME! :) You did a beautiful job on the clouds, especially. What a nice surprise... you're so cool. :D
Sweetcell (Apr 9, 2007)
You know I barely worked on the clouds. It's the water and the figures I spent most of my time on. And they still don't look right. *sigh* try, try and try again. And cool? I'm so cool I make it snow, I must because it's going to snow here in the next few days. Maybe I'm too cool. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 9, 2007)
I have to work and work to get clouds that right. You must be a "natural" at it. I think you're getting it right... I just noticed you captured my "stride". NO MORE SNOW!!!! I hate that stuff, I absolutely HATE IT, snow.
Sweetcell (Apr 9, 2007)
Imagine getting it for half the year or more. I WANT SUMMER! It once Blizzarded on my birthday years back.

Just want to know, is your hair in ponytails? Looks like that in the picture. And that guy on the left looks like he's flexing. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Apr 9, 2007)
We get mostly summer here, and sometimes I get really tired of that when it's 115 in the shade for months in a row, but it's beter than snow, any day, I think.

Nope, no ponytails. When I get salt water and sand in my hair and then it starts to dry it does all kinds of weird things. As for the guy... there's NO TELLING. hah
Sweetcell (Apr 9, 2007)
I wondered because it looks really weird in the pic. Well we'll just say it is in tails. :) Your bum looks a little flat though. I better fix that. :D
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 9, 2007)
It just always looks weird at the beach... I call it the blonde beach dreadlock thing... it sort of sticks together in these big wavy strands. Yeah, I have a little more of a "bubble butt" than that. :)
Sweetcell (Apr 9, 2007)
LOL, bubble butt. Hahaha.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 9, 2007)
That's what my husband calls me sometimes... I can't believe I said that. LOL
PS (Apr 9, 2007)
Nice details so far.

davincipoppalag (Apr 9, 2007)
Wow..beautiful job on this one BArb!
Cameo (Apr 10, 2007)
Sweetcell!!!! I love how you captured that special blue-gray-green of the ocean that I can never get quite right. This is tight! You did a great job.
Miss_DJ (Apr 10, 2007)
WONDERFUL!!
TammyF (Apr 12, 2007)
This is Fantastic!!!! Feel like jumping in and have the sand and water surround my feet!!!!
Ruggi (Apr 14, 2007)
I think I can hear that feet go splish splash into the water.... all too real
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 17, 2007)
I was just looking at this again when I went to get Pooh to color on him, and I am wondering... what are those guys doing? hah... I didn't notice them then, really, and I guess I should look at the photo again. That's hilarious. (almost as funny as my hair)

Oh yeah, you really did get that Gulf of Mexico color to the water perfectly, I was never able to get it that close. It's not really blue or green or brown, it's just kinda... that color, yeah. :)
Sweetcell (Apr 17, 2007)
You know how I got that water color? It's so silly I used the gradient tool for both the sky and the sand and I brought the sand color up too high (I was trying to make a part between sky and sand) and started to shave it down with the blue and got this great color and just went with it. Yup, it was a mistake I exploited (exploit the mistakes people) Then I just did different tones of blue, from blue/greens to blue/purple. But the color coming through is the sand color.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 17, 2007)
I guess that's why it looks so true. It does get to be more of a blue/green color and not so murky much farther out (you have to swim a long way or be in a boat), but you can't see that water from the shore. You have the whole thing just right, anyway, however you did it.

Dam computer started stalling and lagging and I started to get streaks. Damn I hate this thing.

Well at least I was able to fix her flatness. I gave you your bubble butt Cindy. Hahahaha, I think I'll use that on occasion. :D

"Whoa dude, the waves look so knarley."

Your done Cindy, hope you have fun headin out.

That's two out of my studio, I is a drawlin foo.
HunterKiller_ (May 9, 2007)
This is damn good. The water lappin' up on the beach is perfect. =D
Sweetcell (May 9, 2007)
I went half assed on the sand. Who has time to put all those little crystals and junk in. I mean I like detail by MY GOD. :)

Tankies Hunter.
lori (May 9, 2007)
such good work!
davincipoppalag (May 9, 2007)
This finished up great BArb

Had to long in to comment on this. WHOA WHOA WHOA! My utmost praise first off for creating a picture of the beach that actually gives me a sense and feel for it. The colors, and mood are exactly that. Props alone for that.
TheCrimsonKing (May 10, 2007)
Oh dear! I'm entranced! While everything about this is great, I simply love the highlight on her left calf. I also like the dude in the center who looks like he's about to contribute to the bacterial population of this beach.
Sweetcell (May 10, 2007)
/\hahahahahahahahahahahaha Oh CK, you just made me gaffaw, thank God I wasn't drinking anything. haahahahahha.

Thanks everybody.

But damn that's funny. :D))))))))
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited May 10, 2007)
This is really perfect... it's almost clearer than the photograph. The water and the sand and the sky are so wonderfully done, you even put in the little stray cork in the sand, I see. :) Oh yeah, and my horrible sea witch hair, you got that down perfectly, too. Any day surfing is a bad hair day, if you have hair, that is. lol

I'm getting a new surfboard for Mother's Day!!!!! This is Bingo, (I took this on Bingo's birthday when my mother and I went to the beach this spring... he's got a gray ponytail back there, but you can't see it in this photo :) and the second surfboard from the right with the bright yellow trim is going to be MINE!!!! :D

This was such a nice surprise, Barbara... thank you so much, I love it.
Sweetcell (May 10, 2007)
Is that what that thing in the sand is? I wondered, I thought maybe it was a party favor or even a cigar in a brightly wrapped package. I'm guessing a cork for fishing?

Surfing, what's that like? I think I'd be too terrified.

Your very welcome Cindy. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 11, 2007)
Yes, it's a fishing cork. Surfing in the Gulf of Mexico off of the Texas coast is mostly "paddlin' and straddlin'", and waiting for a decent wave. The only time it's really good here is before and during a tropical storm or hurricane, and then it's a lot of work, but when you do catch one... I can't explain it, it's a total rush, like being on a rocket made of water... you can feel the intense energy of the ocean under you... there's nothing like it. I'm not that good at it, so most of my time is spent wiping out, going under water waiting for my surfboard to pummel down on my head. :D
Sweetcell (May 12, 2007)
*ouch* I think I'll stick to sledding down snow, at least then I won't have to stand up and if I fall I'm already close to the ground. XD
sincity (May 12, 2007)
Wow! Nice job. How did I miss this one? :}
Roytje (May 15, 2007)
Amazing! So this means you've space again, maybe for a collab? :)
Sweetcell (May 20, 2007)

I was just looking at that water and those two waves and kept seeing straight hard lines and shoddy blending and had to fix it before it drove me mad. Glad I still had some space left, I hope this looks better now.
Anna (May 25, 2007)
You totally nailed our water! This is so perfect!
Kayos (Jun 13, 2007)
WOW! Im suprised I never saw this on here till now.. You did a superb job on this. Waves are so hard to pull off and look real, and you did spectacularly. I think the thing I like best about it, is the non-burning yellow light typicly on a beach picture. This has the feel of a layer of fog or overcast. * runs from the sun for feer of another 3rd degree burn day.. shuttter* And I always prefer the beach when its like this, and not blearing sun murdering your skin. ;)
JK-Arts (Jun 14, 2007)
That is so cool.
