Well, this is the first draw I've chosen to put in advanced. I hope it's up to standards! The ref I used was a bit blurry so it was hard to make out all the details but I tried. I still have some more detailing to do on it but I've got to put it away for a while. =)
Wow. *I'm paddling back to shore*... it looks kind of rough and he looks hungry. :) This is very clean, sharp, good art, but the thing I really like about it is that you captured the feeling of really being there... the ocean can be cold and dark, it is powerful and overwhelming... it makes me feel tiny and helpless sometimes. This kind of does that. I really love it. I'm finding I'm liking most of your art and enjoying watching you improve so rapidly.
Wow! Thanks y'all. For some reason I didn't expect all these raves! You know, I think we look at our pieces for so long when we're working on them that it's hard to see the over all effect we've achieved. When I look at one of my pieces, I see everything that bugs me about them. I can't see the piece as a whole! I hope to get more details to this. I'll have to wing it since my ref pic is so blurred though. I'm thrilled you like it and I'm also thrilled it hasn't been bumped down to intermediate!!! =) (yet)
Absolutely agree with Poppa about the 3D thing, especially the splash around the beasts mouth is 3D looking.
Blurry ref pics are very hard to work with, so I think you're doing a great, scratch that, excellent job. Looks like he has a garbage bag in his mouth.
Wow, you have a lot of patience, after a while I always feel a bit guilty for spending a lot of time behind my computer. ;V
Ow goodie! I only just noticed you're using shi-painter. Animation to watch. Note to self, check out animation later.
Why is it that just when you hit that upload button, you see something else you wanted to do but don't want to wait, or have time to wait for it to load all over again to make a change!
I'm calling this finished though. I'm trying to clean out my studio! ^..^
The Great White Shark has a great liking to all food types and actually chooses to eat surface dwelling animals more.. example.. birds and seals. It doesn't use the practicle, dart towards it's prey and snatch it then crunch and pull it underwater. It actually attacks most of it's prey from directly beneath it.. rushing at 35mph, launching itself out of the water and either killing it's target with it's teeth or crippling and stunning with it's weight.
I love sharks and I love this work. Very nice, love the glow effect.
I think it's a seal btw.. too much motion to tell :"/ where's that reference pic???
Whoa! Where have I been? I never seen this until today Elly. Forgive me....nice seeing your stuff here. I wish you could sit and teach me your tricks when it comes to water. Your draws are incredible to say the least.

That shark gives me a sense of weight. It looks heavy. Water is looking really nice too.
Awesome pic though. =]
