scrunched-up faces are fun to paint.

my crazy Ukrainian grandma taught me to make cabbage rolls today. because all good saskatchewan girls should know how to make cabbage rolls.

Pakka (Apr 1, 2007)
The first version is pretty spiffy...but I can't wait when you finish all the details! It would look plain awesome, the details already look amazing.
Sweetcell (Apr 1, 2007)
Well well, nice to meet a fellow Ukrainian. My grandma and mom taught me long ago so I can make them as good (actually a litte better;}) as them. Miss both of them. Your lucky to have her around. :)

So far that skin and teeth is looking amazing.
brenndurdrykkur (Apr 1, 2007)
holy shit
YoureToast (Apr 1, 2007)
The nose and teeth look to real. That's insane.
davincipoppalag (Apr 1, 2007)

Holy crap, I love this so much. The skin looks amazing. I really wish I knew how to paint/draw skin.
The eye area is especially nice. :D I really hope you finish this soon.

All us Manitoba girls have to know how to do is brave a freakishly cold winter that lasts 6-7 months. D:
Sweetcell (Apr 5, 2007)
The wrinkles, geeze the wrinkles. And the gums, the wrinkles and gums. And the teeth, the wrinkles and gums and teeth, oh my.

Punky, ola fellow Winterpegger. It's been stupid cold hasn't it? Oh for summer to come.
Ashes (Apr 13, 2007)

Sweetcell (Apr 17, 2007)
You finished and it's just amazing. The way the collar turns down under his arms, and all the wrinkles, the gums, teeth, well I'm re-repeating myself. Just all around goodness Patience. Take a bow.
PS (Apr 17, 2007)
Amazing details, nice work!
Miss_DJ (Apr 17, 2007)
this is mega elite. I can FEEL this drawing. The pressure of his teeth and the sharpness against his fingers...the frustration behind those eyes. My goodness patience. This is absolutely one of the most emotive drawings ever drawn here.
lori (Apr 17, 2007)
fabulous work.... I don't understand his thinking though, why he's so stressed, I treasure these quiet moments at night ... allll to myself
you really kicked ass with those details
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 17, 2007)
I love the night until the clock strikes three.

This is... WOW.

WOWWWW!
Roytje (Apr 18, 2007)
I've never said this before on a drawing here, but this is the perfect drawing for it.
Showcase, svp :)
KuteDymples (Apr 18, 2007)
What an expression! I love the looks of the whole painting. Perfect!
patienceisoverrated (Apr 18, 2007)
:) thanks bunches, you guys.
frootcake (Apr 18, 2007)
i've been watching this one for ages now. Great finish. dunno how you got some of the textures, maybe a lot of happy accidents.
I think this is worthy of Sweetcell's first showcasin' powers
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Apr 18, 2007)
OKAY, PEOPLE, HERE'S THE DEAL In "days past" I always thought it was relatively "lame" when a painting was done and viewers came along and said "showcase, showcase, blah"... whether or not it deserved a showcase placing or belonged there, it was always more annoying than helpful. This, however, is like one of those EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM ALERTS. It isn't "If this were a real Showcase Placing you would have been instructed to ... what?" I'm still waiting for the "real thing" by the way. I have been waiting, disappointed, my whole entire life.

We all know this belongs in the Showcase, just PUT IT THERE, would you?

I'm actually going to be counting the minutes it takes for this to transpire, and if it doesn't I will have lost all faith in the "2draw Hierarchy".
frootcake (Apr 21, 2007)
i dunno now, staci used to do this sorta thing all the time. It's like time is repeating itself
davincipoppalag (Apr 21, 2007)
Has ANYTHING been added to the showcase lately? I don't recall seeing anything put there for a goodly long time
mikron (Apr 21, 2007)
in this case, patience must indeed not be overrated! :)
zep (Apr 27, 2007)
oh yes...THIS IS WOW :)
