What the title says. I have an Aiptek HyperPen 12000U graphics tablet, and I installed the plugin not too long ago. When I drew in the Intermediate Board the first time, the pen sensitivity didn't work, and still doesn't now. I don't know what the problem is. My friend said she had the same tablet and the plugin worked for her. Boo hoo...help me, please. :(

It only works in Lascaux Sketch and Shi-Painter, and only if you enable the pressure sensitive features. For Lascaux Sketch, click either of the two buttons in the lower right corner. (Also, you can click the info button on the toolbar and it will say if JTablet loaded properly.) For Shi-Painter, click the 'P' in the topright of your canvas, and that'll open the dialog (if it loads JTablet properly), and let you turn on/off the features.
Also, JTablet only works on Windows, MSVM or Java 2 plugin. Java 2 plugin recommended. |

Well, I tried it with Shi-Painter, and it's still not working. I also noticed that on the studio page where the JTablet download is, it says it works with Wintab compatible tablets. Do I have to download Wintab, and what tablet's not compatible with Wintab?

Try the JTablet test applet on the sketchstudio site.
You don't download wintab, it should be part of your tablet driver. aiptek's should be compatible with wintab, and I'm pretty sure people have had success with aiptek and jtablet. |

Well, it works sort of. The line doesn't change size or opacity unless I press really hard on the tablet in the first place. It doesn't vary size/opacity gradually with how hard or soft I draw. I know WinTab is on my computer. I can't get support from Aiptek, because it looks as if Aiptek.com is shut down or just inaccessible at the time. This is frustrating. T_T

Do you have the same problem in Photoshop or any other non-java program that supports tablets? It's possible you need to adjust your sensitivity settings, because that will affect how hard you have to press. On wacom you can actually change the curve and it makes a huge difference on old, worn out, or simply bad tablets.

Nope, it doesn't do that with anyother program except yours and Shi-Chan's. My pressure is at 3%. I guess that's pressing too hard?

Well, then fiddle with the sensitivity options, try different extremes, neutral, etc., and see if it affects the JTablet test applet at all.

Nope, still doesn't work properly.
