What does Santa look like to you? Your goal this week is to draw what you think Santa looks like. You can draw him any way you want, in any style that you wish. Creativity is a must for this contest, let lose, get crazy, get festive. Please do not copy other artists work and have fun. :)

Marcello and I have decided that once the 40th contest is completed, 4 contest winners will be selected for the Showcase Gallery from the past 40 winning entries.

And in the future: Unofficially, after every 10 contests, one contest winner from the 10 winning entries will be put in the Showcase Gallery.

I'm not planning on drawing anything this time, but it maybe be worth reading up on how before the poem "twas a night before christmas" was written there were a much wider variety of views of what santa claus was like. In some versions he was even someone to be feared, similar to a gremlin. Afterwards there were still a variety of views, but not so many. There's an urban legend that it was coca cola that invented santa claus in the 1930's, but actually they just promoted the image that had been created over the previous century and made it more mainstream than it already was.

I was thinking about doing something for this one, but I didn't have time because I had to do a police sketch of him to hang in the post office, and here's the APB news... he doesn't have a sled anymore, he's driving a ratty old van that looks like an ice cream truck, and he has two pit bulls and nooooo more reindeer. Please do not try to apprehend him yourself, he's armed and dangerous ...(with peppermint sticks he whittled off in prison). He doesn't drink milk anymore, he's taken up whiskey and he's eating crack cookies. Report him to your nearest local law enforcement agency immediately.

If a thousand words are worth a picture, then just the stupid stuff I said today should equal a picture. Oh, wait, that's backwards.
