I, do. I hate Even though I have to draw with one. How much are tablets anyway?
But I don't think a tablet would help me much, I would still suck. x-x;

I first started drawing with a mouse but I got a tablet a little over a year ago and I loved it! But I broke it and now I have drawn with mouse since summer ::D::D I don't really care about drawing with mouse.
I'm fine with it <3

sometimes when i draw with a mouse, i just think about how adorable mice are and it makes me real happy.

I like mice. If you're serious about drawing, and you can afford one, get a tablet.
I will warn you that a tablet doesn't make you draw better, and it isn't the same as using a pencil.

Aww. Mice are cute. < 3
Maybe I should just buy a new mouse, mine is old and dieing. x-x;

I have to disagree Hunter, at first my pen felt heavy and quite awkward to use but now I don't even notice the weight (I wonder if I put a battery in it feels so light) And I've gotten enough practice in that it feels just like a pencil or pen. I dread the day my pen goes cablooey and I have to use the mouse again. I hate the mouse. HATE.

Well, the tablet certainly feels a lot different from pencil and paper to me. Most likely because of the mapping and stuff.

Tablets don't increase your drawing skills at all. But once you get the hang of it, then you can usually finish digital pictures faster than you could with a mouse. I guess what I'm saying is, I could go either way.

I agree with Ty854, he couldn't have said it in a better way.

NO one has commented on the cost of a tablet yet. And where do you find one? I simply can not draw or paint with a mouse. Can't even draw a straight line.

Try http://www.wacom.com/ for one of the most popular brands of tablets. Starting prices are about $100 USD if I remember right, I'm not actually looking right now, and from there they go way up into the hundreds. Graphire is the economy model that's cheaper but not as sensitive, Intuos is the better kind.

I use my tablet for absolutely everything, unless I'm playing a game where movement is controlled by the mouse because then it just gets all crazy with the tablet tracking. Still, as much as I like using a tablet for drawing and after using one for over 3 years now it's not 100% the same as pen and paper. I think it's the fact that you're moving the pen off to the side while looking at the screen. My hand eye coordination is pretty good, but I don't think you can have as much control over something you're not looking directly at and just watching the cursor move on the screen isn't the same as watching the tip of a pen or pencil move.

Depends =\ Somepeople are awesome with mouses.
And tablets are really hard to get use to D: I'd think a PC tablet is easy...Because you draw on the screen (:

Okay, thanks guys. =D
I'm pretty serous about drawing with a tablet, and even if it means I get no other presents for Christmas. All see if I can get one. x3

I love my tablet, but I tend to switch over to using my mouse when I'm not drawing. I need more space on my desk <__<;;

I think it is very easy to use tablet =//

Visual-Kei (Nov 26, 2006)
tablets do make drawing easier..that doesnt mean it will make you a better artist.
They do take some getting used to just like a mouse. But once you get the hang of it you'll like it.

For some reason, I draw better with the tablet...After I got a tablet, I hardly ever drew with pencils or any other traditional means. So maybe that could the reason. When I do get the chance to draw on paper, the roughness and the friction feels weird now. :0 And plus, the undos/redos, zoom in/out, and the adjustable brush sizes are awesome with the computers.

And oh yeah, I can't draw crap with a mouse. Just look at my earlier pictures. They're like poo. D:

My sister got a tablet, but shes in a dorm in college and using it. ^^; I messed around with it on paint, and it reminds me of a game system. Like you have to get used to the controller. I've been hinting to my Mom.Christmas. XD

I don't have a tablet, and I hate mice! Yay!

lori (Dec 24, 2006)
I don't like it, but I think I like using a mouse better than I would a tablet... it's one thing when you are drawing on paper and looking at the paper... but to draw something, like it's on paper, while looking elsewhere, it doesn't make sense to me.. I dunno...

psychofox0 (edited Dec 24, 2006)
having a tablet doesn't make you a better artist, I'm an example of that.... but me I use both.... but I rather use the tablet.... :3
oh, and I bought my tablet for $364.00 mine is a wacom initouis 3 ...... but there are cheaper and more expensive ones......

Mouse...eh. Mouse makes my elbow scream and curse at me (especially when I play Trickster Online), so I stick with my tablet.

We have a couple of mice in our home and they are sooo annoying! Mice scare me for some reason. Anyway, we have a tablet and drawing with it is so nice and smooth like a frothy cappuccino. We lost the pen though and now we have to draw with a mouse and it sucks entirely.

I love my mouse. But yeah, maybe someday I'll get me one of them new fanggle tablets. ;)

I cannot draw with a tablet (on the computer) to save my life. It feel really weird to me. Maybe one of these days I'll get used to it.

I used to try to draw with a mouse, but I totally sucked. I got a tablet and... I still sucked. :)

but I like sucking with the tablet.

AHH tablets..such a great invention, but, yes, weird to get used to. However, when you do, they are fab! Mice are for selections, only.
What is really weirder than using a tablet, is using paper and pencil after drawing with computer programs a lot. There isn't any such thing as undo for paper....erasers just aren't the same thing...

For me, drawing with a mouse would be suicide. >>;;;

My tablet has spoiled me but I got one for 114$ plus tax at best buy and its a wacom grafire tablet with battery-less and cordless pen and mouse and three different picture making and altering programs. I need it sooooo much now that I havent used my laptop in a while because I just hate the feel of the laptop now.

Mocha_Bean (Mar 27, 2007)
I use a tablet. I used to draw with a mouse and I didn't do so bad and once, I used my laptop mouse to draw in order to prove to my fiance that I needed a tablet and that I was motivated to draw, lol. All my fiance paid for my tablet was $70 because it was on sale at Best Buy before Christmas. I love my tablet and it's been a great addition to my art hobby.

I used to draw with mice when doing drawing games. For one reason or another I felt the need to get a tablet and ever since I only use a mouse when I'm at work. If I use a mouse for too long, my hand gets numb and cold, don't have that with a pen. A few months ago I updated my tablet from 'trust' to 'wacom'. Its the Graphire4 classic A6 size (€ 89 incl. tax, that'd make it around $ 118) , works great for me, my screen isn't too big too handle it.
A few posts back someone commented on the weird feeling of using a pen and looking at a screen, that feeling stopped quickly.
Using a mouse now I think would feel cramped, using the tablet didn't make me a better artist, but it made me do nicer digital stuff (still not spectacular) than with a mouse.
One last thing, and then I'll be quiet again, pen/pencil/paper really does feel funny now.
