I guess I could elaborate. My understanding of this piece is "I'm bored and I do not want to actually think." Whether it's "just your art" or not, I think it's bad art. I fail to see the "form and placement" that cloxboy refers to. It just looks like you were bored. I am curious though, what do you think your piece means?

well, I'm not going to try and explain this piece...the fact is that even if I was just bored, why is that relevant? I'm not sure I see the need to 'think' my way through every draw. Can't one simply be 'inspired' as the pen moves around the canvas? I'm happy Cloxboy finds form and placement within this draw, but I'm sure from my perspective this has happened quite by accident. I'm not here to 'get it just right for the art scholars of the group'. I draw for myself. I enjoyed creating this, that's my bottom line here. If you like it, wonderful, or if you think it's bad art, well gee, isn't it swell of you to say so...but, both of those opinions are secondary. This is my outlet, my love, my wonderful addiction in the best definition of the word.

ps and Marcello, you having the audacity to call this both stupid and bad art...only speaks volumes about yourself.

I think it looks like a decorative plate...Thats what I thought it was when I first looked at it...interesting.

Nekoian stole my description ;) From the thumb it looks like a bowl or plate. The whole picture looks like a birds nest with the light reflecting on it.

Cake is cake, art is art. Cake is to a lump of melted sugar as art is to this "piece".

I don't know what it is, or if it's "good or bad" art, and I don't feel like thinking, anyway... it's sooooo much trouble to think. I do know one thing, I find looking at this entertaining, and because of that I've looked at it several times, and each time I see something different. The light and shadows on the shapes have some sort of realistic effect which give it alot of dimension and depth.

Thanks for the nice comments I have received. On the other hand, gee...I suppose I'm in good company with artists that have created controversy. I think it's pretty ironic though, that my art is being insulted on a beginner board. I titled this piece TANGLED MESS. That's all it was to me. But, I thought it was interesting enough to post it. The comparison you made, Axil62 just sounds like Marcello's buddy coming to his defense. What a crock of shit. I was just drawing....why should my creativity as a beginner artist ever be insulted? You guys must be really bored. Why don't you both go create a masterpiece where we can all go 'stroke' your geniuses?

Scribble all you like and then sharpen, dodge and burn. Keep doing that, over and over and over and over. Stay right where you are forever for all I care. But if you decide to post it, and I feel like commenting on it I will. That's what the comment feature is for. Do you get to tell me how to comment? Do you get to tell me to say only nice things? No.
