Dude, does that say "What the fuck anime"?
I am so tierd of seeing anime everywhere I go, its like...slowly taking over the worlds media >_> I like some anime, but when its all the same redundant crap, it gets alittle annoying yo :I
Pff I just tried to pick that style up recently(and that very badly), because I learn a lot from trying different styles.
Anime/manga is just one of them.
But yeah a lot of stuff here is anime. Thought there were harder times.
*sigh* Are we starting this argument again.
Quite frankly, I'm sick of this never-ending anime bashing. How is it any different than any other style of art? It's stylized, sure. What art isn't? TRIP, you do what most people would describe as a cartoon style. Axil dose modern impressionism. Zep's stuff is highly stylized. The Crimson Kings; surrealist. are those interpretations any better or worse than any others?
oooh I love being a controversial fucker <3
I hate overused trends (though there are brilliant exceptions)
while its good to learn different styles, people need to find their own souls
There's no reason not to like anime. but if you do, keep it to yourself. telling everyone you dislike someone isn't going to change anyones mind.
Dang. I wonder how many arguements have been made on this site.
theres this, teh emo thing...that's all i remember. BUT! there are others. I know there are.
@TRIP: it's in my soul to try everything :)
And yeah people will only reply if they really feel like something needs to be said...and controversial stuff gives us this urge.
ahahah, this is great. colours are delicious. i feel the need to comfort your frustrated little man (no sexual innuendo intended).
my two cents: i don't feel there's anything inherently wrong with anime-- there's some incredibly skilled masters of the style out there, no doubt.
but there's a hell of a lot more anime that doesn't fit into that category, and the pervasivity (i made up that word, but it sounds good) of it is insane. it' impossible to avoid all the art and artists of the style-- many of whom are very young and therefore naturally more inclined to fanaticism-- creating sheer armies of anime eyesores. what ticks me off the most is that 95% of it looks the same. like a great big ball of siamese twins from a million different mother.
mmm. not the greatest similie.
needless to say, i can't say i'm much a fan.
Oh gawd. This drawing describes exactly how I feel every time I get on DA. I love good anime, and I love stylized cartoons; but goddamn, I also like to see some diversity. Especially since my artistic style is still very limited and it does good to expand. I see enough anime bullcrap in my notebook every day, and that's why I like getting online to see other stuff. o3o
Nothing wrong with anime... It's just.... A little annoying sometimes. Maybe a bit too popular, you know? (ahhheemmmmprobablytheeasieststyletolearnhackhackhack)
eh. "Anime style" is just stylized anatomy. American-Comic style uses stylized anatomy as well. There are good Anime artists, and goon American Comic artists. I don't see why we need to bash those artists who are still learning, wether they use anime or american comic style. Or maybe I'm just ranting because I'm a bad anime artist myself :\ dunno.

I do like the picture, by the way. I love TRIP's style, always have.
