aww! i like them! but one questoin, wasn't there a basilisk in harry potter? wasn't that a snake? but i love this! i like the way you made everything come together, good job.

i'm currently re-reading the series so i was inspired...
and icybluecub: yes there was a basilisk in HP, and yes it was a big snake creature.
as mythological creatures go, since there is no reality to base it on, individual writers tend to take liberties on their view of what the animal is.
rowling decided she wanted a big snake, and pierce decided she wanted a man-sized lizard-like creature.
i find it interesting though that rowling's basilisk could petrify with a glance, and pierce's could render things into stone with a special noise. obviously both authors based their individual creatures on some centering legend to get those similarities...
