Actually, I was figuring out how the dodge and burn tools work and layer transparency. All this time I've been hand-selecting my shadings and just changing the opacity of the tools for transparency. Heck, I didn't even notice that there was a font tool. It's like driving your car around for a good long while and then suddenly realizing you've been stuck in 2nd gear all along. ;)
I didn't know there even was a font capablity until I saw Axil use it. I'm used to REALLY basic programs like MSPaint that don't have layers or blending modes. (Yep, I'm old.) Lascaux is all high-tech and stuff- I kinda like it- it's like I traded my Buick in for a Porshe. Okay, maybe not a Porshe...but at least a slightly better Buick! ;P
Ooooh, I thought you were just making fun of my noob-ness. ;) The button with the 'abc' on it next to the 'fill' tool. Don't tell me you CAN teach an old dog new tricks after all! LOL.
Oh no, I was just playing with shading this time, dodge, burn, layer opacity- no letters. I just meant I had blindly stumbled across it while I was monkeying around with stuff and it gave me eevil ideas for future images. ;)
Hey, thanks. Kanji is always a challenge for me- not being Japanese at all, I'm always scared I'm going to mislay a stroke and it'll mean something else entirely! I saw that happen on a guy's tattoo once- terrible, terrible.
I'm truly enjoying your pieces, damn that's some fine lattice work. Very bambooish (yes, it's a word, now that I've made it up. X}) The highlights behind the figure, the lettering. Beautiful.
Poppa Poppa, and all this time I thought you knew everything, because, y'know, your old. Click on Text, click where in your pic you want to place it, write your name, see if it's the right color, size, placement, lettering, click ok and Bob's Your Uncle.
Now if someone can tell me how to set fonts in Oekaki I'll be a happy woman.
Are you talking about PaintBBS? Heck, I really don't understand the font tool in that program at all. I guess that's why I keep coming back to the 2draw board- even though I play around on a few others Oekakis, this is my very favorite one on the net. Lascaux just seems so much more refined and easy to use than the other programs- it's made me spoiled.
