is it possible to save the animation somehow, so i can import it to a Dv program and make a mpeg of avi out of it
or do i have to do it the hard way, by taking screens or using capture software

you'd have to use a capture program. I might consider a sequence generator for lascaux sketch's animation player, though I doubt there's a huge interest.
