Contest Week 24: Distorted Anatomy (2 weeks long)

Your goal this week is to draw a distorted human figure. It can be a drawing of a full body, half of a body, a portrait, a hand, a foot, as long as it's human and you've distorted it somehow (please, no aliens, cyborgs, anthropomorphics, etc.). You may only draw 1-2 figures/people in your piece. This drawing can come from your imagination or you can use a photo reference to draw from (just don't forget to distort the anatomy some how). You can distort your anatomy anyway you want and in any style you want (realistic, impressionistic, cartoon/comic, pencil drawing, painterly, line art, etc.). Clothing on your figures is optional. Please do not copy other artists work and have fun. :)

I suppose Rosie's head seems small compared to her large muscular body.

This is going to be interesting.

She's a female with male musculature. I'm not an expert, but I think that's a distortion right there.

Axil: Read what Zack said. But also note, Rockwell himself was known for his slight distortion of facial expressions and anatomy. I added Rockwell to the samples to show different variations of distortion, his being more subtle than say artists like Earley, Hess, or your run-of-the-mill caricature artist.

Kayos: Please keep your figures human. Your figures can look pretty demonic, have contorted bodies and angry/mad/sad faces but stray away from horns, wings and additional parts that are not human. For example: You might have a figure with the hands being the largest part of the body and the face is all melted and angry, that would be just fine. Now, if you added scales, tails, wings, etc., that would not be okay because it's not human. Work with the anatomy humans have and distort from there.

NOTE: You can draw your figures in whatever style you want but Kejoco does make a good point, this is not a caricature drawing contest, it's a distorted anatomy drawing contest. Just so you know.

Quick question, what's the value of grey on the background windows. The one the picture is framed by? Someone said 190, 190, 255, but that gives me a powder blue.

Is it just me or are most people in this one just not fully comprehending this contest?

I think most people understand the contest but it would seem many of them have chosen to use a caricature style of some sort. I've already stated this but I'll do it again, this is NOT a caricature drawing contest. But, if you choose to draw in a caricature style, that's fine.

Mine was weird.. not really extremely distorted but it was. Mine wasn't meant to be a caricature.

I am so overwhelmingly impressed with the submissions on this contest. There's some steady hands, great minds and powerful imaginations on this site.
Clox- this is an especially good contest topic, I'm really enjoying it so far. I wish you had been my art teacher in High School, then I wouldn't have had to spend four years drawing potted plants, plastic fruit bowls and the back of my left hand. ;)
