Inspiration is one of those things that comes in fits and starts. I was wondering what other people do to attain the inspiration and motivation to do some of the amazing things I've seen in this site...

Me? Well, I browse other people's user boards sometimes. No, not to steal ideas, silly- Because it GIVES ME ideas! It's like I see an angel. Then I see a zombie. Then I see something in black and white and something on fire. Then I think "hey- why don't I draw a monochromatic zombified angel with flames for hair!! Yeah!".
Sometimes I go outside and observe nature. Sometimes I close my eyes and look at all the wiggly shapes I can see in the darkness there.....
What do the rest of you wild crazy people do for ideas?

I feel things... things I love to feel, like love, things I hate to feel... like pain. (like there's a difference, really?) and then I come here and I look at the way some of the amazing artists here express those and other feelings, wishing I could express myself in my art like that, and then I go paint from a photo of something. :)

music does it for me a lot of the time. sometimes things just come to mind, sometimes I google the most arbitrary word I can think of and see what path that leads me down. Emotion (mine at the time) is a good one too.

I find inspiration in anything. Inside jokes, music, other art, Myspace, ANYTHING! :D Hey Cindy, memo me please... I need someone to speak too..

(the picture I'm working on now was inspired by a song, actually... music does that alot for me, but I don't think what I'm feeling is imparted very well by my art, and that's the part I HATE)

eh. Music is more of a "Get Focused Fucktard" thing for me. :]

I can't live without it. Life should totally have a constant soundtrack. :)

Well my mind won't shut down, (makes it hard to sleep sometimes) It's whats in my head. It's a piece I did somewhere else, like you I see what someone did and it inspires me try try something not similiar, or maybe (don't know where I'm going with that lol) Maybe something pops in my head (I wanna do Bugs Bunny in that one scene when....) It's when the ideas DON'T come I've resorted to just doing random things in front of me. And then sometimes I don't send. Music is just a backdrop for me. And like DBA I have a hard time expressing my emotions in paintings. Envious of those who can.

I have done it to suit me on canvas, but I just can't seem to do it here. I don't know what the difference is. This lacks some sort of.... "earthiness" that you get from real painting.

Is it normal is you have constant nightmares? :x cuz everytime I dream it ends up in nightmares and spookiness.

I did when I was your age... and then later during times of real stress.. my life was a nightmare at times. Get a teddy bear, or two. I still have one that no scary things can get past, and sometimes I pull him out and sleep with him, but don't tell anybody. :)

(Nightmares are usually your subconscious confronting things that you are afraid to deal with in the waking hours... resolve those issues and they go away)

I don't quite remember what nightmares are like. It's been a while.

Music inspires me, like many have said before... for me is music since I wake up till I go to sleep (imagine my HORROR when my Ipod died just when I was out of the city...). The mood of my drawing is heavily taken form the music I hear at the time, to the point that sometimes it changes my drawing completely just becuase I began to hear a different piece!

Another inspiration source are dreams (Well, nightmares in most of the cases)... our minds can produce so sevearly damaged things when in sleep that I can't do anything but to try to draw it.

Nature, the greates artist of them all, also inspires me to try to draw the precious things she creates.

Google (excellent!), music, dreams, insomnia, emotions, nature- I love it!!!! Ladies and gentleman you are *all* truly awesome. This are the ingredients that VISION is concocted from!!! It sets my mind on fire....

2draw is a curious entity in and of itself. It kinda reminds me of my high school senior year in art 4 class, only the 'kids' are ALOT less stuck on themselves, and the 'teacher' isn't some clueless drooling moron better suited to cheerleading class. ;)

All my pictures are currently music-inspired in some way or another...
I wish I was a better (or less lazy) photographer, because from walking around the city I always see certain scenes that I would love to paint and such, but I'm too lazy to take photos and try.

music inspires and stimulates me while drawing or sculpting. friends inspire me, animals inspire me, other art, sex....... yep. about everything inspires me.

When i watch anime or look at other art it inspires me. It's like a street fighter game, the cooler you think your character is the better you play ;)

My inspiration usually comes from music, but alot of the time, I just look at the sky. For some reason the sky never bores me. I dunno, I like clouds alot I suppose.

At first it was just me drawing my made character badly, a pic to cheer someone up that didn't work, and a horrible icon that led me to make a better one. my cousin had me start 2 collabs and i added to 3 others. 10 pics. then i lost all inspiration and now i mostly just comment and talk about my crappy self on threads. i cant give inspiration so i'll do everyone a favor and stay away from the subject.
