Just Experimenting with an oil painting technique in Shi Paint.

V.1 Going somewhat like expected. Unfortunately... most traditional painting techniques are based on pigment light reflection instead of light generation.

Your shading technique captures curvature nicely..

Love the whole looks of this, escpecially the curves of the lady.
It has a semi-classical feel. It sort of reminds me of Rick Berry's artwork.

I just wish I had a palette option I could find so i can store colors instead of guess what level i was last using. This way I'd have a more accurate account the colors and I could compare the values between each.
Zack (Jul 4, 2006)
If you right click anywhere on the canvas you'll set your current color to the pixel under your mouse pointer.

Sorry, I ment to post it in the other one currently doing with I'm doing with lascaux. I already know about Shi-Paint's palette feature, but thanks anyways. ;)

However, I would like to know where the tablet option went. I had it up before but then it went away when i wanted to revise my picture. I was using it so i could have varible presure for my blending and other things and turning it off when I was applying solid colors
Zack (Jul 4, 2006)
Ah, well, Lascaux has the right-click dropper as well. If you want to save a specific palette between revisions you could make a new layer and draw a little swatch for each palette color you want to keep.

I think my brain has been circling the drain this week... -_-;;
Zack (Jul 4, 2006)
Heheheh. Don't worry, we've had artists go years without realizing you could do that. ;)
AnimeShawn (Jul 4, 2006)
I just found out my old graphire wont use the rightclick dropper unless im clicking with the tip first so im gonna have to use the mouse for it :(
SYTHE (Jul 9, 2006)
Looks really cool so far, I think it would be awsome if you continued the picture in the chalk-ish style.

This is very beautiful, great work! But, maybe if you have worked a little more time in these one... but still, it is a great drawing!
