I think this guy's wifee was probably walking through the forrest one day and found him like this and then she put her fists to her hips and stamped her foot and had a scowel on her face said "Oh Alfred!" Only his names wasn't Alfred, and he had bologna in his sandal.
scandalous indeed. you get the shadows spot on with the tool, but the whole body lacks depth. I would say this is due to the blurryness of the whole thing. the hand on the left is my favourite part, but as a whole this is inspiring. i love quick accurate sketches, i stared at some of Raphaels in Edinburgh for ages
All the colors on the pallet have a gradient that fades to grey, sometimes I accidentaly pic up some of the color by not clicking close enough to the edge of the box in the grey area of whatever color happens to be in the box.
Axil.... I am awed and stupefied and... it's just beautiful. If you've ONLY just now discovered the air brush tool, well damn what have you been using all this time? That head angle I've always found difficult. Well done. You know that forest scene you did is still my wallpaper?
Let me ask you this. Do you find it difficult to work the chin (bottom jaw to be more specific) at that angle? Thats always my problem. You nailed the anatomy on the torso. Love the ribs.
No, not really. I mean, I just look at the ref and try to understand why the shadows are where they are and whats going on. Are you asking because you see something 'off' about it?
I saw the sculpture, and that is one of the things that I was impressed with... I was drawn to the face in the painting. I didn't "analyze" it for faults, I don't do that with any art. It feels right so I like it.
I only ask because I have trouble with the jaw in that position. Hoped you could help out with that vass knowledge you contain. Everything looks fine to me.
I have trouble with faces on a flat plane /or angled like that as well, so I understand your question... he seems to pull it off rather nicely each time, and I always wonder how he does it, myself.
