Where can I order one of these, and does it come with flints and lighter fluid, or is that extra? And who drank all of my whiskey with a splash of water on the rocks? All I see are the rocks.
(I am a total perspective idiot, and I am reluctant to say anything since you're the King and I'm a lowly peasant chick, but that horizontal line across the ice.... should it be curved at all... or rippley or something, do you think? Something about it distracts me. But hey... *curtsies*... you don't have to answer, or fix it or anything. I was just wondering.) Please don't be-head me or banish me or anything, because I wouldn't have mentioned it (and I could be wrong anyway) if this weren't my favorite picture you've ever done.
edit: oh, and Sweet... they will work in pretty much any temperature... you just have to warm them up with a little body heat first ;)
probably does. but whatever. originally the idea was that the water is even with the camera, so you're seeing right across the top. there should be some surface tension around the edges, too, probably, but I didn't spend a lot of time on that.
It's perfect everywhere else, in my opinion, and the choice of background (the simplicity in it) was good, because it's so detailed that anything else would have made it too cluttered. I have trouble when I'm doing buildings or glasses and stuff when the perspective changes from angling downward to upward, and somewhere in the middle it IS kind of straight, so you might have it right. I just think with the ice in there there might be a little... static? somewhere in the line to break it up, is all. Thing is, I love this picture or I wouldn't have said anything critical to you. :)
Well, there's my answer... Zack knows his perspective and he confirmed it's good (without telling me I'm stupid to go away and shut up)... so I was wrong. :)
Hah! Nah, I actually already mentioned the glass's perspective to him in IM. The top is too extreme, and I agree that the top of the water part could use just a tiny bit more curve. It's the top of the glass that bugs me most, though.
:)... the rest of it will fly with me... partly probably because I'm perspective retarded, anyway....you can have a great piece of art with a little perspective mistake, some of the great masters did it all the time. The whole picture is so outstanding (and especially without a reference, since I can't draw a simple circle without one, I'm impressed)... I just know what I feel and what my eye goes to in a painting, and for some reason the total straight line with no break-up distracted me, and I didn't know why. You are right, he shouldn't be so lazy, he should paint seriously more often!!!!
