A masterpiece of a film. The blueprint for every Science Fiction movie out there, from Star Wars to Star Trek. The movie where Lucas got his idea for Threepio. A movie addressing Socialism and Capatilism and the rights of the common man. With special effects that still can still stand up today.
It's out on dvd. It had a major overhaul done on it. You know the original was very short and because the technolgy at the time was minimal many scenes he had cut out didn't survive well. But now they've remastered the movie, added those extra scenes, cleaned up the picture quality, and I understand they even remastered the original music. It really is amazing when you see it that the piece was done before even model effects done in the original Star Wars movies. If you can get past the fact it's a silent film with sub-titles you'll have a hella time enjoying it.
Ok, I admit, it's a favorite of mine. Can you tell? Thank you Deino.
Thanks Clox that's sweet. By the by did you see the finished collab, it came out allright, I promise if we ever collab again I won't do such a heavy background ;).
Actually they are related, but the anime isn't exactly an adaptation. source
And I don't think you should just forget the anime either. Ebert called it one of the best animated films he'd ever seen. Getting a 91% at rottentomatoes is no small feat, imo.

And to think it was made in the 1920's.
Anyway, great job in this one Sweetcell!
