Lots of people are tempted to draw the human eye--it's a challenge to get all the shapes and textures right and to suggest the spherical nature of the eyeball and then the transparency of the iris. I think this is one of the most beautifully rendered eyes I've ever seen--love the texturing and the colours you've chosen. The only constructive criticism I have is that the thick skin between the lash and the surface of the eyeball on the bottom lid is not visible...unless the skin is meant to be black (if so, it works). Unless you were viewing the eye from below you would not see the black skin between the lashes and the surface of the eyeball on the upper eyelid. Those are both just pointers for the sake of realism. And, pfft. Who needs it when the finished piece is so stunning?

this is so good, I really like it, it's like rainbow eye lid and you did a great job on the eye lashes. I will try to draw an eye too, but it's not going to be as good as your's, but I will try my best!<3

Amazing stunning piece Gemmy. Didn't I see something similiar drawn by DBA? I think that's how you graduate here, if you can do an eye your set.... I have one in mind, but only till I get a bit better.

Love the eye..very realistic and great against the textured background. Agreed aobut the view..u will always see one or the other, the top ledge of the lower lid or the bottom edge of the upper lid but not both, but since you worked from a ref, the original artist is the one who did that, therefore..yours is perfectly awesome!!! The Iris is startingly real!
