I am new.. but, you are definately talented.. that, to me, is art... wonderful coloring choice, very unique. It looks like you could consider this a antique painting..She almost looks as if she is real. Great job!

yes yes, here we go. oo i think i have a critique.. the green of the bg looks like its attached to her collar, maybe its going to be a bag or something, but the way it is there, i looks like shes got a cat tail over her shoulder or something, i dunno, i'm tired. too much practice makes me eyess sore

Derrick Just right click on desktop then click properties then goto settings and set it to 1024 by 768 pixels. Then use the smallest windows theme. or change your icon spacing to 11 and size to 38x38.

I started to say this at first when I saw the title of your picture.. but I can still say it. You entitling this "practice" is like, well... an Olympic skater going to the mall and saying "I need to practice, now.", skating out and doing triple axles while all of the ordinary people are wobbling around and busting their asses on the ice. anyway, what I was gonna originally say was "practice my ASSSSS" HAH... The whole thing is damn near perfect, but I really love the hat.

Oooo. I love the way you've mixed the desaturated tones of the hat and her skin with the supersaturated colours of her lips, her kimono and the background. The hat is *ahem* well, dammit, amazing. Love the tension in the chin strap/skin and the way you've just managed to hide her eyes from the viewer...so we're always trying to peer up under the edge of the hat. Critiques? Hmmm. That gorgeous bouncelight underneath her chin makes me wish there was a tiny bit of shine on the skin of her cheek. But's that nitpicking. I love this.

It's insane how much subtle texture is in the skin here. I can't begin to imagine how to do this with lascaux sketch, and it'd still be incredible regardless of the medium.
