I had a lot of fun looking at all the funny gnomes. Everyone did a great job last week.

I usually decide on a contest idea and then write a story about it to help inspire people who arent sure how to approach the contest. But I decided to open it up a little and get help from real writers! This weeks contest is:

Contest Week 4: Choose your own adventure!: Illustrate a scene or idea from your favorite book! This sounds simple, but it might not be. If your book is illustrated you can't copy a picture, but you can use the same characters and settings and so on. Try to take your personal favorite book and illustrate the scene in your own way.

Rules: I would like people to choose a book that is actually one of their favorites. Please include the title of the book and, if possible, a short passage from it that gives some idea of what you are illustrating. This contest will be judged with the same factors as usual, but we're looking for 'vision' here.

This Contest will run from Saturday Sept 24, 9pm PST to next Saturday Oct 1 at 10pm PST.

Think it already ended. DF just hasn't been on for 3 days (even though that means he was here to see when the contest was over, he just didn't get around to naming the winner and starting a new contest).

Just wondering-is it possible we can get an explanation as to why you chose a certain piece as the winning piece? I know contests don't usually do that, but I thought it may help people for future reference on what to try harder on in these contests.
