Here's the thing:
I can't edit any lascaux pics without the java plug-in. it just doesn't work. the bugger is that, for some reason, if i have the java plug-in installed, i can't submit oekaki pictures. I've installed java and reinstalled it SEVERAL times to test this, since it seems so improbable, but that is most definitely the case. is there anything i should know? is this... common?
or is marcello trying to force oekaki fans to pick between lascaux and oekaki! >:O conspiracies surround the folks at 2draw...

as far as i know, marcello hates oekaki. as far as my experience goes though... how can you possibly choose to use oekaki over lascaux sketch anyway??

A little history... oekakibbs isn't even supposed to be used on any site other than www.oekakibbs.com. I had to do some 'hacking' to get it to work on 2draw. (If you see oekakibbs on any site other than oekakibbs.com, you can thank (or hate) me for it being there.)

Obviously, I did this before I wrote lascaux sketch, or else I wouldn't have bothered. The only reason I'm keeping oekakibbs is because some weirdos still like it.

Personally, I don't actually have that many problems with oekakibbs submitting. (I'm using Java 1.4.1 in Mozilla, if you aren't, that's your problem.) The only reason I dislike oekakibbs is that it is stuffed full of bugs and odditities that despite its powerful features, make it a weaker applet than paintbbs. Design decisions and seemingly minor differences turn out worse in the end. One of the main bugs is the instability of the animation format, which makes resuming difficult whenever there is a problem.
And problems in the applet lead to people complaining to me about something basically out of my control.

The main difficulty with the submission errors is that the applet has no way of telling the user the actual error that it got, so basically it'll say error submitting image to anyone for any reason. This makes it very difficult to figure out what the problems are.

While it's an impressive applet, I leeched all and any good ideas it had and put them in lascaux sketch. So, to me, it's just a corpse waiting to be pushed over. (And btw, I do plan on adding smudge to lascaux sketch eventually, now that I have some idea how to do it.)

Ok, I believe I've fixed the problem with loading PNG/LSD in IE. It should be working in v0.651.

Method, i haven't chose oekaki over lascaux. i simply want both :P Of course, since marcello plans on making a smudge tool, there will be no reason for me to use oekaki (as i only use oekaki for smudge)
anyway, i am a weirdo who still likes oekaki, i just try to finish a pic before submitting it because of annoying bugs that bite me.
