Hey All.
is there a technique to draw so that the compression doesn't molest your colors? it is a little irritating. thanks to all who answer

Yes, you can just take a screenshot just before you send. Also, the animation shows the real colours, if it does not mess the drawing up.

I'm trying to figure out what compression is.

Compression means to take one computer file and make it smaller in size, while trying to keep the file the same. There are many compression methods. For different kind of files there are specialized methods of compression. There are some compression methods that are used on image files. Some compression methods make the images look different, like the colours are changed a bit, or gradients seem to turn into single colours. Some other compression methods do not change the pictures at all. Shi-Painter uses a compression method that affects gradients most. >:)

When I mean size, I mean file size, like how many bytes large the file is, not width and height dimensions.

You can download a .PNG file of any Lascaux picture you submit by right clicking on the JPG, clicking "View Image," and then replacing the .JPG in your browser's URL with a .PNG.

Shi-Painter has a built-in compression that it applies before 2draw gets its hands on it, which can really screw with subtle gradients. If you want to have a version of your Shi-Painter image without compression, all you can do is take a screenshot when you're done drawing before you submit.
