This is Machiavelli. He's the shark I am dissecting in first year biology lab. The poor guy doesn't have any skin now.
Maciavelli is a male spiny dogfish (Squalus acanthias), member of the phylum chordata and class chondrichthyes.

Reference used: Pictoral Anatomy of the Dogfish, Stephen G. Gilbert, 1973.

That took longer than it should have. I brought up the applet and then had to hunt down my notes to make sure I labled everything correctly. I hope this counts as studying.
They're offering a course in biological illustration next year. I'm thinking of taking it just because I can. ^___^

Just a few touch ups.

After you dissect him, will you cook him too? I like seafood. <:)

Actually, I find myself wondering what shark tastes like. But they've been preserved in formaldehyde. . . I'm not too keen on finding out how that tastes. :]

Formaldehyde must not taste very good, I think it is a carcinogen poison. I think it exists in cigarettes too. >:)
