where are the keys of my mecha?...

are you in the mood for a collab?
i´ve just added you right away...just in case. :)

the case is that; sagenev, huirimeir and me decided to make a book with our draws here, and i was thinking that could be nice to include a collab with you.

Holy crap Javier.. this is yet another style for you!.. Is there nothing you cannot draw?
zep (Apr 4, 2005)

Bravo! This guy looks like he' is from that movie Alien Nation
Fin_beast (Apr 22, 2005)
Wow. Good job both of you. Surprising how much a good background can change a picture.
Ty854 (Apr 22, 2005)
Wow, awesome BG.

excellent collab!
Gigge (May 23, 2005)
I thought this one would be red & orange for some reason when I saw the line art. I don't know the blue isn't working for me, but it's a very cool pic. You two always work very well together.
Zack (May 23, 2005)
Hmm. Any theories on why the blue doesn't work for you? How about the green?
Gigge (May 23, 2005)
I like the green. I think the line art 'popped' and red and orange are colors that natrually 'attract' and 'excite', but blue is soothing and somehow that combined with how close it is to green didn't fit with my initial impression of the picture. But, that probably just means my initial impression was wrong.
Zack (May 23, 2005)
Well, it doesn't mean anyone's wrong; it just means we had different impressions. To me, the person has this very calm, commanding look on his/her face, and I wanted to work with that. There's also the idea of the coldness of being surrounded by so much technology. If there were an angry intensity of expression I probably would have been more inclined to emphasize that with reds and oranges like you said.
Gigge (May 23, 2005)
I'm not knockin' the picture. I like it and I can see where the cool green/blue tones have a place in the pic. But, since you asked about it, I brushed on a veneer of purple (essentially added some red to the blue) and to me it adds depth and maybe the contrast of flesh and technology to the pic. Here it is since I dont' seem to be articulating my thoughts on this very well.
Zack (May 23, 2005)
No need to convince me you like the picture, I can take criticism. The purple feels out of place to me for practical reasons. If you turn off the lights in your room at night and just leave the computer screen on, the projected light from the screen is generally more blueish or greenish in hue.

I think the slight pinkness of the face contrasts pretty strongly with the surrounding technology since it's the only reddish hue in the picture, and one idea with his/her suit being blueish-greenish is that he/she is being assimilated into the surrounding technology. Depth between foreground and background in this case is primarily brought about by atmospheric effect, i.e. clarity of the foreground versus the blurriness of the background.
Xodiak (May 23, 2005)
I like the blue-green colours because they make the background cold and impassive, just like a room full of computers and spaceship controls. Probably in an emergency the room could be illuminated with a deep red colour. The purple version would probably be better if the alien was a bit more threatening and angry looking, like a Predator for example. >;)
