It's interesting that there is a sort of quiet struggle in this image. The soft curves and simple shapes suggest a calmness while the red of the pot in the back is trying to squeeze its way toward the front of the image and the blue of the container in front is falling toward the back. You can especially see that when looking through the handle. The flattened space created by this push/pull effect gives further simplicity to this image. I think this is a very nice balance of color you've made.
Yeah, when I saw the ref I was immediately drawn to this spot on the picture. It doesn't have the fanciest parts of the reflections, but it's where all the action's happening.
edit: I kinda want some of the yellow plate to poke through under the handle though. Hm.
*and when I say "simplicity" I mean in a good way. Having simple elegance. I tend to forget some people don't like that term but that's what I was taught to say. >_>
