It's funny. At first when I tried Lascaux instead of Oekaki, I decided I preferred Lascaux, because for one thing, you didn't have to bother with opening and arranging all the toolboxes around the workspace. And it can zoom. However, after using it for a while, I've noticed that it either eats up alot of resources or it's sensitive to available resources, as trying to run intensive Java-based programs side-by-side (in another site) can cause Lascaux to freeze up, get artifacts on the screen, or not even be able to re-draw the screen. And sometimes (not running other java applets), after working for a good while, I'll start getting these ugly artifacts on the page in response to my brush strokes, like again, there's some sort of resource issue that's causing it to glitch. Also, I've decided I dont really like the button interface as much as Oekaki, nor the tool selection. There's nothing that can match the pen tool in oekaki, nor the water 2 brush, nor the mix brush, or textures, or any of that stuff. I never need to use zoom, so that's not really that big a deal. Also, I really enjoy being able to watch the animation of myself working on my drawing from start to finish, as with watching other people's work. Lascaux doesn't support that, as we all know. So for me, Oekaki is just a more stable, better equipped, easier to use applet. I'd stick with it :P
