A tribute to Tomihiro Hoshino, the author of this book. Ofcourse my version is dull in comparison to the original. He skillfully drew a multitude of beautiful flower water paintings with a brush held in his mouth. He was paralyzed after a near fatal accident in 1970.

emmamommalag (Jan 26, 2005)
Oh, my! This is not dull.. it's lovely. Such delicate blossoms. Beautiful pic, Hunter.

Very pretty ,indeed. I buy my Christmas cards every year from the Mouth and Foot painting artists. They are all people who paint by holding the brush in their mouth or feet.

It's done... and it looks crap... I couldn't get the green or tea red to match the ref. The pink on the left side blosoms is too strong, might touch that up. Can't do anything about the green and tea red though.

Lightened up the blosoms.
clockworkkubrick (Jan 26, 2005)
Looks like peach blossoms... Ohh Yes and the chinese new year is approaching XD
HunterKiller_ (Jan 26, 2005)
lol Thank you for that clockwork. Pear blossoms however are white, the branches also are darker and 'twiggier'.
Yes it is approaching indeed. Not really anything to be excited about though lol since i'm not even in China.
gottin_regen (Jan 26, 2005)
so delicately beautiful. oh. you don't have to be in China to celebrate the Lunar New Year... Anywhere would do. Actually, the new year, is in fact a chance for us to 'rip' cash off our elders... haha. (Tis like christmas, but instead of presents, tis monies.)
wingz38 (Jan 26, 2005)
Wow. Now it looks even better. Great job on this!
safescene (Jan 26, 2005)

I think your tribute is wonderful. I had never heard of Tomihiro Hoshino, and I feel thankful to you for introducing me to such an incredible man.
