Anyway, I was just browsing the forums and I got a good gander at all of the cries for a collaberation partner. I was just thinking that some kind of a collab randomizer would be usefull. Like you click a link to it and there is a button. Then you could click the button and the "randomizer" would pick a user with about the same points as you to collab with that has recentlyclicked the button too. If you don't like the user or somthing you could like click the button again and it would re-randomize another user. I know this should of been posted on the "wishlist" post but I was afraid that It woulden't have gotten seen. So Marcello, How do you like this ideia?

Hey, I think this is a novel idea. And points is a pretty good way to arrange it, though theres not a whole lot of people actively using 2draw, so high point people might not be able to match up that way. I think it would be fun to auto-team becasue you might get a chance to work with someone you wouldnt normally associate with. I am not sure of how much work adding this feature would entail, but if its feasible, I think it would be a nice addition (though not heavily used until the site balloons to 20,000+ users).

Well lots of people are joining so that's not realy a problem. The only problem is getting it past Marcello.

I don't believe that would work very well. Choosing a partner you can get along with and someone who has a style similar to your own would be slightly difficult if it was chosen by some randomizer. It can be done, I just don't think anyone would use it.

Well, I think it could work, although i don't think points are a good way to organize it, because not all newcomers are at the same skill level, and some people who don't draw or comment much wouldn't have as many points, but would still like to collab? Although I do understand it is a good way to discern who's active and such.

I think perhaps each user could decide to have their name be on (or not on) the collab randomizer list, like within their own profile? And you are always able to check someones profile to see when they last accessed the site, so if someone who was inactive was the name that came up, you could find out before you memo them.

Another problem would be people who just hit the randomizer until they got a "cool" or "popular" artist, and that artist just gets a million memos "Oh em gee, I got your name on teh randomizer, please lets collab!" and then they never want to collab again.

Hm, well, I like this idea because I like the idea of random collabs from any artists. To me, collabs make me want to work harder, so the other person likes the picture, and it makes me expand my style sometimes, and try new things (like new body positions, or coloring styles, or applets I rarely use). But I don't know if this is a workable idea...
PS I don't think the point of collabs is to find someone who has a similar style at all, but rather to mix styles. Although similar styles can make some cool things too sometimes....oh I'm so on the fence on this subject...okie I'll shut up now. :P

I like what CV really said there! I think we can make it work, but probably a lot of thinking will be involved in the process.
