Trying out some eye colouring techniques...anybody who's good at these things pleases make suggestions. I tried to draw eyelashes, but they just wouldn't look right, so suggestions on how to do them would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way to learn, is to use a reference. Keep practising untill you no longer need that reference. I would love to offer colouring advice, but colouring is not my strong point! However in Lascaux, the best way I've found of colouring is using anti alias, the smooth brush, and setting the opacity to around 140-170. Then blurring if neccessary. That's probably completely useless to you though, as you used oekaki for this!

Try putting some subtle shading on the top half of the eye, usually there is a shadow from the eyelashes. Also, perhaps lighten up on the blood vessels... they are symbols or insanity, rage, and extreme emotion. To do eyelashes... I try to do them as some simple dark areas like shadows... then I add just a few details to make them look less indistinct. Anyway... just said all of this 'cause you asked for comments... I'm typically more of a lurker/drawer not given to chit chat.

Just trying some of the wonderful advice that I got. Big thank you's to IdentityOne and grayrider for taking the time to write out those tips.
