Tell me which is worse, individual style without talent or talent without individual style?

I depends on what the style looks like, but I would rather have a cool style than alot of talent.
great pose!!!!!!

I don't have the answer to your question, but I know this picture has both, and so do you. Looks like a charcoal sketch that was done so long ago that the paper yellowed. Nice work, Kenn.

This is really great. I love the feeling it has. :-) Wonderful job, Kejo

Before I get slagged i'll tell you that this isn't an original drawing.
I did add some of my own elements but the original concept drawing is not mine.
I can't always translate to paper my own ideas...i see them in my head but i can't find the lines when i put pencil to paper.
Its frustrating

I know exactly how you feel. Probably the most frustrating part of art...aaarrrr.

It's fantastic nonetheless! Love that rose.

I love this, great detail and you do have talent :)

I have to agree with DBA -- this looks like a charcoal sketch on old yellowed paper, and whether you worked from another's concept originally, or not, in creating this piece, the look itself was something which you created, within the limitations of the tool/medium -- and unlike a traditional artist, you couldn't even just let the materials do the job for you. I think that you deserve to give yourself more credit for what you've done here. It takes both talent and skill to create an image like this, even if it is done by way of a combination between recreation and adaptation. :)

I wish you well in achieving the skills necessary to render your own fully original artistic concepts as well as you have this one.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 6, 2004)
and you will, Kenn... find your way there. I promise. The fact that you realize there's a path you can't find tells me you'll stumble upon it. Either way, this is a work of art I never would have viewed had you not "translated" it for us here, and I thank you for that. :)
davincipoppalag (Dec 6, 2004)
To me, style without talent is meaningless. "Wow you really have a great style drawing shitty pictures". Talent cannot be learned , you either have it, or you don't (btw Kenn you are loaded with it). A talented artist can develop a personal style.
I think you have style, as well. I don't think any good artist is ever fully satisfied with their style. If they were, they would stagnate. I think it is the quest for that which produces the art! I sure like your art, and your style.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 6, 2004)
Kenn is always "stylin". :)

You know what, you do what you love and like, not what other people consider right, I think this a well done piece. If it is not an original drawing, that is fine, you changed it enough I'm sure to make it yours and to convey the message and feeling you wanted to send. We tend to beat ourselves up too much, trying to make others happy, and that is not the way to make yourself unique.

no need to worry kejoco... you have both individual style and a hella lot of talent :P dang.... Where can I buy some talent XD I have the wierd, crap style down pat ^_^;; TT_TT
