yeah nice handwriting..
anyway..you can also pick up some of the base color and go back over the lighter shade in spots that you added too much color, or to blend the two.

im totally lame at explaining stuff sorry, but here ya go. there are lots of hair tutorials out there that can explain how light and dark and highlights work. hopefully this helps you with how to apply that in lascaux.
