Comment, now :)
I didn't use a ref. for this, well, I started off with one (about 3 months ago) but I lost it and it's been sitting in my stuio for a loooong time as a chin and a nose. I thought I'd finish it tonight 'cause I was feeling sorta bordish and I felt like drawing. I think it turned out OK! But maybe I will stick to references. I don't know...I like this.
you should practice drawing without references. i personally dont like to use references unless im redrawing somethign i already drew. this is pretty cool looking, except for the beard maybe if you blurred it abit it will look better.
I like to draw with references because I believe it helps me...If I use references I learn a lot about the subject I am drawing, I think anyone would. To draw without references is good for fun and imagination...But I don't believe it's very "usefull". I want to learn how to draw anatomy, and you can't do that without references.
polythene pam is right ;)
if you want to learn, stay on track and watch nature...it won't be wrong anytime
and i don't think that somebody has such a good imagination that he know how everything looks without watching it very hard to get every shape in mind.
i didnt say it was bad to use references and how is not useful to draw without references . well anyway i just would like to see her draw some pics without usign any references.
I was just about to say the same thing. I ussually don't use reference pics either. I was saying they are good to do sometimes. I only really use them to practice up on my styles.
