Wow. This is beautiful, and moving. Wish I had more time to look at it. :)
Anna (Oct 1, 2004)
ooo :) This is comin' out wonderfully!
Zack (edited Oct 1, 2004)
Her right wing is amazing.
edit: Axil, you bastard, no it isn't. Don't taunt us like that.
bumpinthenight (Oct 1, 2004)
The pallette of this piece suits the picture well.... very nicely done... I cant wait to see the finished product!
Moonie_710 (Oct 1, 2004)
i wondered how 2 do wings for ages an uve shown me. great pic btw
spiritdweller (Oct 1, 2004)
but but... she's crying... :(
Celala (Oct 1, 2004)
Her sorrow makes me cry.... in a good way... if there is
spiritdweller (Oct 1, 2004)
well it's a cleansing picture, that's all sorrow is... I agree, it's sad
Axil62 (Oct 1, 2004)
Went and took a nap, came back, looked again. This is all wrong.
spiritdweller (Oct 1, 2004)
no no it's beautiful
davincipoppalag (Oct 1, 2004)
Even angels get tired. This is a beautiful piece Dan. The colors you used add to the effect. I love everything about this.

I'm just pissing myself off...do more later.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 1, 2004)
Got your own boot pointed at yourself, boy.... mhmmm... it was perfect in the first version. Take it back there, if you can.
bumpinthenight (Oct 1, 2004)
awww! I concur with dba! go back, duuuuude! XD it looked much more refined in the first version... now it looks chunky and immobile, when at first it had movement even in its stillness... XD ehh, too tired to comment right now.. XD

I appreciate what you're sayin but gimme a fuckin break man, it's not even done yet.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Oct 1, 2004)
I think the first version was wonderful... it had more feeling. The last version is actually executed better, it's still great, but I think it has a little less of the feeling the first one had.
Childlike_Vampire (Oct 1, 2004)
Why is it so many of your pictures make me say 'oh wow'?
spiritdweller (Oct 2, 2004)
I can't get enough... so beautiful
A3 (Oct 2, 2004)
I love the colours - it looks so smooth, like stone...I can't wait until this is finished, I think it will really look good.
bumpinthenight (Oct 2, 2004)
much smoother lines.... looks good, axil... sorry if I upset you! I was just trying to convey my feelings about the pic TT_TT
Axil62 (Oct 2, 2004)
No I wasn't pissed. That's one of the draw backs of text, no voice inflection.
Zack (Oct 2, 2004)
you can always use emoticons, haha
Aubrey (Oct 2, 2004)
Cant wait til this is done. It's always sad to see an angel cry.
Axil62 (edited Oct 2, 2004)
LOL What the fuck is wrong with you? I put angel in google image search as a keyword and found a pic and drew it. The pic I found didn't mention a name and even if I had found the links you have there, whit the name, who gives a fuck? I use google image search sometimes to find inspiration. So what's your point fuck face? You've were registerd under "neudevil" for 10 min. when you made two negative comments, both on my drawings. So you're obviously a regular hiding behind that name.....Gig. Fuckin punk.
Anna (Oct 2, 2004)
Indeed. It IS pretty obvious that you are a regular when you've JUST registered.. and so happen to pick Axil's work to comment on. What a loser. If you have something to say... say it on your own name, damnit. Don't be a wuss. And WHO CARES IF SOMEONE USES REFERENCES. Lots of us do. In fact... MOST of my work is done from references. That's just the way I do things. Don't be ignorant and don't be an idiot. Leave him alone. His art is amazing.. and nobody really cares what you have to say.

Thank you Anna.
Cianteed (Oct 2, 2004)
The wing layers are awesome! I always look forward to seeing your work, Axil, it's some of the best on this site. =D

On the reference topic; Wow, you can spot someone using a reference, what do you want, a cookie? People dont HAVE to state the reference. It's only wrong to draw a referenced pic if you claim its entirely your own idea, which Axil didn't do.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 2, 2004)
All artists use references, and really, who does give a flying f*!@ at a rolling donut, anyway? Most of us don't care enough to take the time to post the link, or to click on it when posted, either. Got better stuff to do. And, yeah, if you have something to say... use the name everyone knows you by already.
spiritdweller (Oct 2, 2004)
she turned out beautifully
Ty854 (Oct 2, 2004)
Woah, that wing is awesome. I want to touch it, but i cant. Great job!
spiritdweller (edited Oct 2, 2004)
she looks so strong yet so fragile...and I'm gonna print this on large photographic paper and hang it above my bed ok?
Axil62 (Oct 2, 2004)
I would be honored
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 2, 2004)
Save a copy for the trailer!!! (you know, when you go camping, and stuff... lol) ;)
davincipoppalag (Oct 2, 2004)
You should try to sell this to the people who make V8 Juice.. what a great ad it would be for "I could have had a V8!) lol This finished up beautifully.. now.. who is neudevil usually??
neudevil (Oct 3, 2004)
youre a fucking HACK is what the fucks wrong with ME...I do graphic arts for a LIVING...BITCH...I KNOW what Im looking at......its not a "reference" when youre using the photograph as the CANVAS.
spiritdweller (Oct 3, 2004)
get a grip neudevil... if someone used the photo as a canvas... wait.. you're not even worth this thought... get over it.
Axil62 (Oct 3, 2004)
Hey Marcello, how do you like that? According to neudevil here, I've hacked your site and figured out how to upload a photo into Lascaux, and use it as the canvas. Pretty amazing huh? LOL neudevil, go sniff some glue or something.
bumpinthenight (Oct 3, 2004)
ehh just ignore the asshat, axil... your art is awesome so dont sweat it... and neudevil, go fuck yourself...
Anna (Oct 3, 2004)
rofl.. omg! what a little bitch. Insane.
Aubrey (Oct 3, 2004)
This turned out beautiful Axil. I dunno how you do it but you just have pure talent. Only a cynical prick would think otherwise... I think sniffing glue is part of that person's problem, not the answer to it lol
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 3, 2004)
LOL Aubrey! Okay, neudevil, whoever the hell you are... if you're such an awesome graphics artist, get your ass in here and show us whatchya got. Then we'll talk.
davincipoppalag (Oct 4, 2004)
I think neudevil would open the wrong end of the glue. Yea, come and show us some "awesome graphics" instead of posting more proof of your ignorance. Remember, one picture is worth a thousand words. Otherwise, just shut up and go away..you bother me.
Kasha (Oct 4, 2004)
sniffing glue is my job, Dan. :(
Jack_Fox (Oct 4, 2004)
Roflmao! Hahahahahahah...I can't believe this shithead...what a dumbass...You know, even if he did use the pic as a canvas why did he get a different perspective? Jackass...go die...Whew, I feel alll better. Ranting is good (-^.^-)! Love this pic axil. Don't let the bastards get you down. Peace, Jack
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 4, 2004)
I'm still waiting for the punk to get in here and show us his stuff... guess he doesn't have any good "stuff".
Gigandas (edited Oct 4, 2004)
Wtf Axil???I'm definitely not neudevil.Just because I hate you, doesn't mean I'd be stupid enough to do that.Don't assume things about others.Especially, if you're gonna end up wrong about the assumption.

-Oh and consider this, even if I chose to do something so stupid, why would I say anything about using references if I do it all the time???(like 90% of my work if not more and I don't even usually add the link myself)You might wanna think things thru before assuming something.
Axil62 (Oct 4, 2004)
I don't give a shit what you think or how you feel you stupid little fuck. You don't tell me a god damn thing. I'll assume whatever the fuck I want you little piece if shit. As a matter of fact, whether it's you or not, this is exactly like something you'd do you fucking dumbass. Now go to your fucking room and don't come out untill your told.
spiritdweller (Oct 4, 2004)
phhf.. so much for the beautiful angel... goodnight
Gigandas (Oct 4, 2004)
Heh, well if you wanna start an argument over your "wrong" assumptions, you can count me out cause I don't have to waste my time with someone like you.As far as I'm concerned this ends now...
Axil62 (Oct 4, 2004)
Good, keep your mouth shut then.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 4, 2004)
Okay, boys, break it up. *picks up broken beer bottles and pieces of chairs, etc...*
dixielandcutie (Oct 6, 2004)
wow axil...this is so incredible...i saw this picture somewhere when i was looking for angel graphics yesterday...and i saw it under the title of sleeping angel...and i'd rather she was sleeping than crying...but just wow...theres a lot of emotion in there...wow...i cant get over how incredible this is...good work
PolythenePam (edited Oct 7, 2004)
First picture I've ever wanted to print and stick on my wall, you're amazing axil.
Axil62 (Oct 7, 2004)
Thank you!
sincity (Oct 10, 2004)
Very Nice. Great job
jayceepearl (Oct 15, 2004)
Very powerful. Just look at the emotions she has evoked. Damn you're good.
pulmonq2 (Dec 5, 2004)
now this I like. The cool color cast to the stone... the gothic/religious look and more of a classical feel. I like this alot.
spiritdweller (Dec 5, 2004)
memories.... memories...
Xodiak (Dec 5, 2004)
I like the statues they build in graveyards. They often build some really nice ones. It is mostly the dead young people and the children who get the most beautiful statues on their tombstones. I once saw a strange looking angel holding a piece of broken glass. I have also heard that some thieves often steal these statues. I heard of a story of a little girl who was not older than 4 or 5 years old when she died and her parents hired a very skillful sculptor to create an extremely accurate and lifesize statue of their little girl with angel wings. And decades after her death, graverobbers stole the entire statue and the parents felt very sad. <:(

This is so dramatic it left me in awe. I love how she drapes herself over the pedestal as if she is weeping and lost. You dig deep inside of yourself when you draw and you should continue to do that.
shell (Mar 3, 2011)
lovely, all versions look nice
