Beautiful. That is really good.
emmamommalag (Sep 16, 2004)
Oh my goodness, poppasweetie! This is beautiful. One of your best yet. You even got the body all furry looking. You were brave to tackle one like this but it was sure worth it! You did great! (((kiss poppasweetie)))

Hey! That's what I call them.... flutterby's lol... makes way more sense than the other way. :) This is absolutely beeeyoootiful!!! I love it! (excellent job on the markings, and it does have that "If I touch it that soft powdery butterfly color will come off on my finger look!"
emmamommalag (Sep 16, 2004)
I'm inclined to believe that the original term was flutterby.. it makes so much more sense. I'll have to research that. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 16, 2004)
Actually, I think I remember reading somewhere that the Dutch invented the term "Butterfly" because of the sulphur butterfly... it's yellow color resembling butter and the fact that it flies... thus.. "butterfly".
emmamommalag (Sep 16, 2004)
And some think it comes from the german term for it which translates "milk stealer."
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 16, 2004)
could be... I know butterflies like rotten fruit... but milk? lol
spiritdweller (Sep 17, 2004)

i like the halftones you used at the bottom

great work on the details....anything with that much detail scares the hell out of me
davincipoppalag (Sep 17, 2004)
...de chicken went over defence..defeat before detail?
purple_Llama (Sep 18, 2004)
This is fantastic Poppa,I esp. love all the little details you've put in.Great pic : )
Aubrey (Sep 18, 2004)
How pretty. Do butterflies really lose their ability to fly if the dusty stuff comes off their wings? I remember people telling me that when I was really little. This picture just reminded me of it. You did a really great job on it Poppa :)
Ty854 (Sep 19, 2004)
