When I lived in Southeast Texas I always heard these peck pecking away up in the trees, but when I looked up I could never find them. Very pretty colors, and my favorite part is the bark on the tree.

We've had lots of downy's and hairy's and even flickers but I haven't seen a red-headed woodpecker since childhood. I just love this picture. :)
