Faces are so extremely difficult so be patient with yourself, because this is really good for a first face. I think the eyes are the hardest to do. In this picture I see that her left eyelid is visible and her right is not (which could be humanly possible, but would look better if it were one way or the other) and on her left eye the eyelid covers up almost half of the iris and in her right eye you can see almost all of the iris. If you even them out a little I bet you'll find you like it alot better.
edit: oh, and do keep working at it because I think you're gonna be great at faces with a little practice. :)
This is excellent for a first try, Sindy. Those eyes are very pretty and you already figured out how to blend the skin tones... that's got me stumped with lascaux. The only problems I see are that the eyes are a little too high on the face (I tend to do that too and then have to move them down) and there's too much distance between the mouth and nose. That's a very pretty mouth, btw! Keep up the good work. :)
Thanks for all the great tips and advice. Your right about the nose. I saw that after I had finished. And DBA you have a great eye for....well....the eyes. lol. I didnt notice the eye lid thing or even the iris for that matter.
Thanks to all of you.
