Tried out Shi-Painter for the first time. I had the worst time tryin' to shade and blend. Any Shi-Painter users out there with any advice?? I'd REALLY appreciate help!!

I only use Lascaux... I love it and don't see any point in trying anything else so I wouldn't be of any help, there. (I did try one other applet once and couldn't find a blend tool) I love cowboys, love boots and spurs, and silhouettes... so yeehaw I love this picture. You did a great job. If you don't know how to use that applet I can't tell.

hehehe thanks, DBA. Yeah.. I love Lascaux. Everything I need is there and I don't have to go searching for it. I've just seen some people do some GREAT blending of skin tones on Shi-Painter... so I thought I'd go see what the big fuss was. lol Pffff.. the skin tones I tried ended up looking like a big blotchy mess.

This is cool, different from what you usually do.
And welcome back :P

Cool boot, Anna. I can't find any blend tool on Lascaux. But I think it's possible to blend on either applet if you have lots of time to switch back and forth from this tool to that and different opacities, etc.

Nice work! I can't help ya with that applet. I can't find anything there and when I do, I don't remember where it was and all. Give me Lascaux

okay, my art is craptastic, but i don't use anything but shi-painter. what i do when i wanna blend/shade is either use the airbrush tool (see tonberry pic in my user board) or use the water tool. water is fun because it makes it wicked easy to gradually fade into or out of one color or another. bear in mind though, i generally just experiment with no clue as to what i'm really doing. i can never figure out lascaux though... i'm attached to the pen tool anyhow...

Thanks a bunch for the tip, taori! :) I'll try it out!

I usually dont look at the titles of the pictures right off, and so I saw a funny gnome pope with a mace! He has a long flowing cape and a short body and his big pope hat. I really like it better that way!

Don't worry anna, I have the same probleme. You should try paintbbs sometime (if you haven't already)/
It has a much better blend tool. This is a really cool silhouette! Great idea ;)

LMAO dino! I see it. You are so funny. And KO... I've fiddled with PaintBBS some at another site I used to draw at before it closed down. It seemed really confusing, but I'll give it another go. Thanks :)
