A stretch of Texas highway in the hill country where I live. I have a prickly pear cactus like these on the west side of my house that is taller than I am, and it is in full bloom now.

(I'm having a helluva time dragging the computer out to the side of the highway to get this done, fighting rattlesnakes and chiggers and I have prickly pear stickers in my ankles... (lol just kidding of course)

Okay, done. And was just thinking... when I die, I may not go to heaven... just let me go to Texas, Texas is as close as I've been.

First off, nice perspective :).The details are very fine with every little detail worked out. Some patience there, DBA^^;.I think my favorite part about this one is the color of the trees^^.Very lively XD.But the cactuses are pretty cool too :).This is great XDDD.

Gorgeous drawin', DBA! I love the hill country. It's so beautiful in that area :D Hooray for Texas... hehe
Kasha (Jun 3, 2004)
dammit! you must live in the beautiful side of Texas. :( I hate living around the city. All I see are crackheads and transvestites, or crackheaded transvestites.
misterjimsan (Jun 3, 2004)
oh wow this is amazing, it makes me want to go frolic in the fields
davincipoppalag (Jun 3, 2004)

emmamommalag (Jun 3, 2004)
Ahh, very pretty. Love the colors. I'm looking forward to seeing it when you've finished.
safescene (Jun 3, 2004)
Ohmygarsh, did this really take you 16 hours?? This is what I mean: I can't believe you actually pop these things out so often. The fact that you do so many of these and for such long durations is amazing in itself. Beautiful, DBA, and I especially love the color palette ;)
Axil62 (Jun 3, 2004)
Such wonderful velvety feel to this. Some of your older things were too soft...but this...yeah, just lovely.

Wow, you made it even better^^;.Speaking of the last revision, mine got worse while yours got better XDDD.Hehe, this is great :).Looks like an oil painting.I think it'd be nice to see you draw a sigle flower in detail just one time.I have a good feeling about it....XD.But seriously, nice work with this :).
LovelyLori (Jun 3, 2004)
VERY pertiful... nice job!
emmamommalag (Jun 3, 2004)
It looks even prettier with the orangish flowers added. Something is odd about the road but overall this is just such a beautiful picture. It makes my eyes very happy. :)
davincipoppalag (Jun 4, 2004)
Yea I agree.. much prettier with the contrasting colors now.. I dunno what you're seein momma..the road looks ok to me..
emmamommalag (Jun 4, 2004)
I think it's those raised edges.. looks like a trough. Roads are usually raised towards the middle so that water will run off. But no matter, the pic is beautiful anyway. I dearly love all of those flowers. :)
davincipoppalag (Jun 4, 2004)
I guess we are seeing the road differently momma..they don't look raised to me..dunno...
Supergurl103 (Jun 4, 2004)

This is a very pretty picture to look at...fabulous, just fabulous...all those flowers and details...wow...
Aubrey (Jun 29, 2004)
This is just great, all that detail you put in every flower must have taken AGES. It's beautifully wonderful though. I wish I could drive down that road!
