Yes, I agree with Cloxboy. It's kind of like explaining that the joke you are about to tell isn't very funny and then after you tell the joke and no one laughs you try to shift the stupidity onto someone else by saying "Well it was so-n-so's joke they told me." Find a good joke or don't tell the joke at all.

It is like explaining a joke of a complain and after the joke complains, the mouse gives up because someone said a joke about stupidity, 1+1=3
