laurael (edited May 23, 2004)
Thanks...I'll try that...you rock Icats...
edit: Uh...Icats...I didn't make them wet looking using highlights and...uh...I 'forgot' just what it was I DID do...it's been so damn long...*now that you made me admit that...:p * Har har...
davincipoppalag (May 23, 2004)
Use the dark set on really low opacity and make a small highlight..then adjust the gray a bit lighter..and a little more opaque..then again..till you have a top mark thats almost fully opaque and very very light.. touch the very center with the lightener..(i never know if thats the dodge or burn..its one of em) put these on his back..one up by the dorsal fin and one near the tail...I think this will work
laurael (May 23, 2004)
Thank you too, davinci...I'm either going to get it right...or delete it.
davincipoppalag (May 23, 2004)
do this stuff on a new layer so you can wipe it if it doesnt look right...but dont delete, its a great draw!
emmamommalag (May 23, 2004)
Don't delete it! It's wonderful.. just try what poppasweetie said and be sure to use a new layer so you can try again if necessary.
laurael (May 23, 2004)
Just how much kb's does a layer use? Every time I use more than one, it seems like I reach the limit so fast, so I haven't used them much. Okay...goin' back in...wish me luck... 8-}
emmamommalag (May 23, 2004)
Good luck!! :)
Ty854 (May 23, 2004)
Turtle Mistress? Awesome pic tho'. i have a boomerang with dolphins on it....it broke.
cmb (May 23, 2004)
yes - add splashes further up the body- even draw water trickling down , use white to highlight it, dark shadowing on the undersides of the splashes...
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 23, 2004)
laurael, this is so pretty... I love dolphins... they are so smart and social. If you add more of the same water spray upwards and then make him wet like they said, it will be perfect. If you have two layers you can merge that you aren't using anymore, it kind of makes it less kbs when you submit if you had to add a new one. The wet look is easiest to achieve by starting with a tiny stroke of highlight close to his color, and then graduating upwards in value tiny strokes at a time in a very light opacity until you have the last very light. (Don't know if that makes sense to you or not) Can't wait to see this one finished.

Yes, dba...that made perfect sense...but I was already finishing this...thank you too, I will always have this to come back to...(I'll need it...)

Ohh.. it's FLIPPER!!!!! lmao Wow, that dolphin sprung from the lake of shining waters. Those waters look like the waters in... *long pause* oh i can't think of the name of the place but it's so beautiful and it looks like those waters in the ocean sanitary enough to bathe in lol. Great job.
