This is very nice.. That intricate patternon the robe is amazing. I think the cherry blossoms would be quite nice. The jewel causes a tad of confusion about the eyes. It almost appears to be the other eye because you can't see any of the right eye. I like this.

I agree with Vince about the robe - that's what really grabbed my attention about this piece. The jewel doesn't really bother me, but if you still think you should edit it, then I'd say either make the jewel look more jewel-ish, with some simple facets etc., or put in hints of the other eye, or both. Very nice development from the sketch. The impression I get from the princess is that she is gently telling the viewer to stay back, so maybe the background could be an entrance into some sort of holy place. Just a thought.

The robe on this literally took my breath away. That's an insane amount of work. O___O I say, whatever you do for the bg, keep up the good work.

yeah you really have got some great drawing skills and you did a great job on the coloring.

Interesting start. The eye/face is fine as it is, the clothes are great as mentioned. They look slightly smudged in some places (as if you used a greyer red).

Pros aside, for improvement, my main gripes would be with the hand and sword. The hand somewhat resembles a fruit jello of some sort. But I think the real problem is that you are not visualizing the sword well enough. First off, find some references, decide on what kind of sword you want. It would probably make sense for her to have the blade horizontal facing the camera, rather than the side. If you're going for a katana, you'll want a curved blade, and a much smaller guard relative to the handle.

All in all, your characters and clothing designs are well done ad interesting, so I can't imagine taking too long before you get static props down.

LOL, Jello... Marcello, you're a card. The hand does look a little awkward when you put it that way, but shouldn't be hard to fix... consider 'inking' between the fingers, and tapering the knuckle so that you can tell which finger is the pinky and which is the index.

Wow - the pattern on her outfit is just so pretty! And for some reason I just love the sword - it looks so pretty!!!and for a bg tip...maybe a japanese dojo or just some trees behind her...it's just a suggestion ^^ this is great so far! i love it!

I think it wasn't really the jewel and the eye that was throwing me off.. it's that the hair seems to pass right behind the eye on the right side.. I like this..but that seems illogical.(I know I know old people are a pain in the butt)
