YAY Dave!!!... :) this was the first kind of bird I ever painted, on real canvas.... beautiful job so far... these birds showed up in our yard for the first time last year, hope they come back again soon!
staci (Apr 19, 2004)

emmamommalag (Apr 19, 2004)
Cut an orange in half and put it out for them, Lori.. I've heard they love that.
LovelyLori (Apr 19, 2004)

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 19, 2004)
This is a nice, sharp bird, with a nice, sharp beak. :) Very pretty. I don't recall ever seeing one like this in person... maybe I did and thought it was some other kind of bird. Beautiful.
LovelyLori (Apr 19, 2004)
no no no, you can't just stay with boats and planes!... this came out great, Dave, whatchu talkin 'bout? Keep it up, it gets easier, I swear... lovin' it, truly truly...
emmamommalag (Apr 19, 2004)

Beautiful picture of the Oriole, I loved them as a kid too, and even now. Orange and yellow and black and white.. such pretty colors. I love this :)
laurael (Apr 19, 2004)
Very nice birdy pic! I really like the orangey colors...very cool, and the detail on the back of the bird is wonderful.
dixielandcutie (Apr 19, 2004)
this is gorgeous davin...:) youre awesome
Lois_Lion (Apr 20, 2004)
This is great.I don't know if we have those birds here.Sort of looks like a bee bird : P I like the leaves too
Pandora (Apr 20, 2004)
Not only is the bird outstanding but the leaves are perfect along with all the colors. We have some desert birds here that make some of the most unusual sounds. I have a tree next to my bedroom window and when the window is open it sounds like monkey's in a tree. haha it does.
emmamommalag (Apr 20, 2004)
Those are probably tree frogs, Pandora.. they sound kinda monkey-ish.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 20, 2004)
LOL @ ya'll... maybe they are frog-like monkey birds! So, Dave, that's why I don't remember seeing one... cuz I prolly haven't.
starmarked (Apr 21, 2004)

evil_cloud (Apr 29, 2004)

davincipoppalag (Apr 30, 2004)
Lol.. Me or the Bird..
evil_cloud (May 17, 2004)
welll... er the bird
Erewin (Jun 17, 2004)
Nice sense of realism in the feet, and I like the decorative effect on the wing. It's like he's crouching after fluffing his feathers, the way birds always do.
Cordelia_Pink (Jul 30, 2004)
oohhh... it looks like a real painting drawn in oil pastels or something. looks really cute! =) good job
