I think it came out pretty damn good! The green is the 'it' color for this birdy...too bad 'someone' couldn't UP the kb's on the intermediate board like they did on the advanced....hint, hint...
thanks Lori, I was in the mood for a hummer ;) As I said earlier, I used to be a bird watcher. The hummingbirds are probably the most ferocious of all birds. I love to see the hummingbirds this time of year. If you haven't seen one you would be amazed at a moth that mocks this bird, I think it is a hawk moth, but I saw one one evening and it blew me away. Sorry for the biology lession but I have a passion for this kind of stuff. Check tis out www.northernexposures.net/id26.htm
when i do pixel by pixel art i make sure to use no blurring, smudging or anything larger than 1x1 brush for the top layer (assuming you use a bottom layer to help fill in the color). it's a beautiful bird
Hey, thug, I've been in the mood for a "Hummer" for years now, but my husband says we can't afford one. Good grief, I just wanted a used one, without all the frills, like the military uses, but noooo. (lol)
It's wonderful Mizz Lori. Maybe a touch of motion on the wingtips? I don't think I have ever seen a hummer where the wings are totally stopped in motion because they move them so fast... Its a beautiful job!

Oooh this is so pretty.. very good detail on the feathers...and you even captured the iridescence. Cool! If you get more space, maybe you could do more on the back end.. looks like it's been bitten off. Otherwise, it's just lovely. And so is that flower!
yeah, I dunno really what I can do to that ass end... I didn't make my canvas big enough, so that is not the full tail, nor the full larger wing... oh well... I would kinda like to darken up some of the darker areas though... but I need a break from this pic, I swear I need glasses now after this one...oh btw thug.... I checked that link... I don't know if it's the exact same kind, but we have these hummer moths in our yard, along with many hummers... so glad to provide you with one, lol
wow lor..good job..the shadows on the flower make itlook realistic and the bird as always ...i just wish the bg had more something....gradient color..a horizon? dunno
ya me too, kinda... all of these bird books we have, the backgrounds are very unfocused, most of them anyway... of course, they want to focus mainly on the birds... but... doesn't make life easy for copycats such as myself... hehe
