hmmm... I'm not so good at realism, am I? The fur/hair is bothering me and the front legs are too far apart.

This treatment of the hair, I think is very good. Not being one who knows horses, I can't say for the rest of it., but I do like this painting. Good job.

Well, I'm assuming you made this picture up, which means they can look any way you want them to, provided the overall logic of light, perspective, etc. makes sense and still be "realism." The only emperical thing about realism is value. You can't change that, but it's certainly within the realm of possiblility to have a horse whose legs are too far apart! It might not be how you wanted it to be, but I think its a nice piece and its pertty funny too.

That's a cool perspective and very trippy.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Apr 7, 2004)
Yep, the perspective on this totally rocks, it truly does. I can tell you for a fact, if you have a few too many tequila slammers, get on your horse and your saddle is loose, well, yep, this is exactly what it looks like right before you slide off and bust your ass. (The moral of that is make sure your saddle is tight before you start drinkin'.) Okay, as for the horse, I don't really think his legs are too far apart, I think they are just a little too small in diameter. But you could leave it just like this and it would be fine, because it's a great pic because of the really cool perspective.

edit: Oh, and I don't think that the diameter of the horses legs, or the distance between them detracts from the work at all, I actually believe they are part of the charm of the picture and also help to lend a hand in that trippy perspective thing you've got goin on here. I absolutely love this picture, so please dont change it! :)

this is great, shudson... you are very talented... too bad you have that same perfectionism disease that I have.... ugggh....
davincipoppalag (Apr 7, 2004)
I like this too. The legs should be larger around where they join the chest and taper down to what you have near the hoof to really look right..but even as it is, its a good picture. I like unusual points of view like this. Good job@
shudson (Apr 8, 2004)
it's already more than three times as big as it should be... I don't suppose I could get a little more space to fix the legs?
Knockoff (Apr 8, 2004)
Oh Wow. Thats really really cool. Yes extremely good perspective.
Awesome colors by the way. You will want to memo an admin for space, they don;t look for comments now adays.

ah, thanks Knockoff, I'm still too new to this site I guess ;)

I'm impressed by the ground he is standing on, that is hard to pull off. everyone is right, the perspective rules!
