I think you should make it a deep blue because it's raining and you probably want that dark-wet-cold feel sinse they are taking cover benieth the leaves. Black might work but I'm afraid of how it might seem a little flat and orange seems too bright for the mood you seem to want to set. If you're gunna make the background really dark, however, the orange is a good idea but just not too bright cause then it gives the pretence of sunlight-I'm so glad you're drawing again! I've missed your drawings!

its nice line art.. I would vote for the orange range.. like a tiger's orange..they do seem to be in the jungle..

Ooh, so pretty, awesome coloring. *sits and stares* Oh how I wish I was on my own computer and not the creppy library's computer. The eyes, the droplets...this is really awesome, I don't understand why there aren't more comments. ^__^
