I just felt it was high time for a good hard look at my bathtub stopper. I'm sure you've felt the same way at some point.

Well, I would, but I just don't have one. I don't bathe, I shower. My daddy taught me it isn't smart to wash your face in the same water your butt is sitting in. lol What an original, interesting idea for a picture... and this looks so painted and real!

Not me. Why, if I could lick my own ass....I'd never leave the house.

I'm gonna talk a little bit about the bathtub stopper. What does a bathtub stopper do? It stops water from going down the drain. What causes water to go down a drain? Gravity. What is gravity? I can't explain how it works but it pulls, downward..toward the center of the earth...it's nature in a way isn't it? So here you have this water (nature again) being effected by gravity, being pulled down into this metal hole that's surrounded by a large armadillo shaped piece of cast iron covered in porcelain (newer ones are made of some sort of plastic I think...I don't know for sure). Then you have this puck shaped piece made of rubber that is made to stop the water from doing gravities bidding, designed to halt the natural process of things, a manipulative little bastard to be sure. Why? So that you can surround yourselves with water as best you can, either to relax and feel better or for a more utilitarian use such as removing any unwanted matter from your person or even from something else, say a dog or an old 20 gallon fish tank that your sister gave you. So, in conclusion the lowly little bathtub stopper is more important than perhaps at first you may have assumed, cleanliness is paramount to good health. Sure we could all stay clean even without the stopper but it would be a somewhat dirtier world without them and that means a lesser degree of comfort, a lesser degree of well being. Hail the stopper I say. Hail it with the same fervor a primitive man might hail the rising sun my friend. This little piece of petroleum product that some prehistoric creature gave up the ghost to provide that we may alter the natural forces of water and gravity, the very nature of how the earth, the universe and everything in it works.

Mine just has a little switch that moves a metal piece to stop the water... much like in a sink.

Well well well, I guess some of us just haven't caught up to the Jetsons yet. But still, it's a stopper. Not exactly a show stopper, but a stopper none the less.

just take a shower.... no stopper there :P

Axil! thanks for the WONDERFUL comment! (put a huge smile on my face) . Anyways, I never got the chance to see this pic, busy drawing myself. Anyways, I really like this pic, so painterly. Keep up the fantastic work.

I still say throw the stopper out and don't wash your face in the water your butt is sitting in. Although I did get some fascination as a child out of pulling the stopper and watching the spiraley water twister as the water went out of the drain.

Have you ever considered writing a column? Say, about nothing? Kind of like Seinfeld's show was about nothing? You are too funny.

You know you've watched too much porn when this drawing reminds you of a pierced nipple. Not that I'd know that myself.
