He needs to trim those brows
lori (Nov 21, 2012)
he doesn't look like a priest I'd put my trust in- ya know that little indentation we all have under our noses? Well I like how you draw those.

today's new word : philtrum the little indentation from the base of the nose to the top of the lip Probably called that because that's where boogers and snot go and you have to....well... philtrum

Busted! Yep, it's a part of the face that I'm particularly partial to. If you read up on it, it's a very interesting little dent--can indicate infertility and other health issues but I think this is my favorite thing about it...

In Jewish mythology, an angel strikes a newborn on the upper lip right before birth to create the philtrum, so he forgets all he saw and knew as a soul.

When I drew this face I kept asking myself "Is this a compassionate face or the face of a corrupt man?" I'm thinkin' the corrupt side won out. Honestly, I thought the thing people would notice first would be that awesome comb-over. '-)

That's interesting! Honestly everything about this guy besides his little dent kinda freaks me out.

I am an infant when it comes to my drawings... I am also brand new on this site, but I was browsing around and came upon this drawing and I have to say, I really found myself drawn to him... I love his blue eyes. ( I always notice peoples eyes before anything else)! I didn't even notice the "comb over" you mentioned! but what really made me like him was his eyebrows!

You are an extremely talented artist. One, you obviously have all of the proportions correct and all of the fundamentals down pat... But mainly because you have the ability to give them life. You bring out emotion in the people you draw and I truly admire that in an artist! I've enjoyed looking at your art and will continue to study it as I search for my own style.
